Feb: 22,2017: The Pearl Year Exhibition cum School Annual gathering of Bethany Convent High School Salcete, Goa and the Sao Jose de Areal School Complex was held on 22nd Feb 2017 at 3:00 pm in the School premises.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr Gajanan Bhat, Director, Directorate of Education, Government of Goa, in the presence of Rev. Sr Assumpta B.S, Provincial Superior, Western Province and Vice President of Bethany Education Society, Goa, who presided over the function, Mr Yeshwant Valaulikar ADEI Salcete, Rev. Sr Paula B.S, The Deputy Secretary, Rev. Sr Noel B.S. the Manager, Rev. Sr. (Dr) Tressilla Pinto B.S, The Headmistress, Mr Agnelo Fernandes, the Vice President P.T.A, Mr Carmo Rodrigues, the Art teacher and other dignitaries, in the School Hall. The parish priest Rev. Fr Richard Pinheiro and Asst- Parish Priest Fr Jason Vaz were special invitees.
Exhibits in Art/Craft, Science, Mathematics, Sports, Social Science, Music, Value Education, Computers prepared by the students of Bethany and the 5 schools of the Complex were displayed.The formal Programme included Bethany Anthem, Lighting of the lamp, garlanding the Bust of Fr Founder, Prayer Dance, Welcome Dance and the Welcome Address by The Headmistress. The Chief Guest and the President of the Function were introduced by Mr Shekar Dessai and Mrs Ina D’Cunha respectively. A Report on the School Complex Activities for the year 2016-17 was presented by Mrs Olga Rodrigues. Later the School Complex Magazine was released by the Chief Guest who also gave away the Complex Prizes.
During the Felicitation Ceremony, the School Management honoured Master Suraj Choudhary and Miss Safira Monteiro of Std IX along with their parents for their outstanding achievement in the field of Art. Mr Carmo Rodrigues, the Art teacher, was felicitated for his dedicated service. Master Clive Fernandes along with other S.S.C.E students of the 2015-16 batch were awarded scholarships for their excellent performance at the March 2016 Board Exams. Mrs Elizabeth was felicitated for her contribution towards faith formation at the Diocesan level. Miss Norah Albuquerque and Mrs Esperanca Sequeira were felicitated for their achievement at the National English Indian Talent Examination and for The Golden School Award.
Rev Sr (Dr) Tressilla Pinto the Headmistress was felicitated for the milestone achievement for the Institution. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs Sandhya Dessai. A Cultural Programme presented by the students followed.
