29th June, the solemnity of  Sts Peter and Paul was an unforgettable day in the life of 19 Tertians as they were solemnly initiated into the Tertiate formation. The focus was on “Being transformed unto the full stature of Christ”.  In the absence of Rev Sr Rose Celine, the Superior General, Sr Shanthi Priya, the Assistant Superior General initiated the 19 Tertians belonging to Mangalore, Bangalore, Western, Northern, Guwahati, Silchar and Eastern Provinces. The presence of Sr Santhosh Maria, the General Councillor, Sr Shaila, the Administrator of Bethany Mother House, Sr Leera Maria, the Superior of Rosa Mystica, the sisters of the community, Novices and their formators, student candidates and their formators added beauty to this graceful event.

Reflecting on the Gospel of John 15: 1-15, Sr. Shanthi Priya, the Assistant Superior General, appealed to the formees to deepen their intimacy with Jesus leading to self-transformation and culminating in Perpetual Commitment which is the very goal of Tertianship. Stating the three key phrases from the Gospel i.e., Abiding, Pruning, and Fruit Bearing, she urged them to remain in Jesus and remain connected so that the Divine Supply may keep flowing. She said abiding in Jesus enhances our self-worth. Pruning is necessary for growth and transformation; it makes our life fruitful. She assured them to remain open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and to the formators to be transformed day by day unto the image and likeness of Jesus. In response to the invitation to follow Christ with enthusiasm and docility the Tertians surrendered themselves to the Lord singing “I’ll say ‘yes’. They pledged to dispose themselves, making use of all the opportunities provided to them to grow and to mature,to be rooted in Jesus.

The initiation ceremony was followed by a short felicitation program. Sr Renita Rego, the Tertian expressed her words of gratitude on behalf of her companions to the august gathering.Sr Anitha Stephen, the assistant tertian directress compered the entire programme.Indeed,it was a joyful and memorable day in the lives of our youthful and energetic young sisters.
