9th January 2022, the solemnity of the Baptism of Our Lord was a day of great rejoicing and immense blessings in the history of Tanzania Delegation and the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little flower of Bethany.Sr Antonette Coutinho was installed as the new Delegation Superior for the second term and Sr Anitha Menezes and Sr Vandana as Delegation Councillors. The installation ceremony took place at Bethany Convent, Mwanga, Tanzania. Eucharist was celebrated by Rev Fr Allwyn D'Souza from the society of Mangalore, Africa mission. Focusing on the baptism of Jesus he pointed out that Baptism of Jesus is the initiation to the new beginning and new leadership.
Sr Lillis, the Asst Superior General delegated by Sr Rose Celine, Superior General officially installed Sr. Antonette as the Delegation Superior for the second term offering a shawl and the symbols of Bible, Book of Constitution, keys, passbook and a lighted candle, inviting her to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, who was a servant leader. Thereafter the Councillors Sr Anitha Menezes and Sr Vandana Pereira were installed. As a symbol of self offering the Delegation Superior along with her Councillors offered the lighted lamps to the Lord. Thereafter Mary's song of love was sung.
This was followed by felicitation programme during which Sr Lillis congratulated the newly installed team and assured them her guidance and support at all times. Sr Antonette in turn thanked Sr Lillis for her guidance and support and the members of the delegation for their prayers and good wishes.
Sr Lillis, the Assistant Superior General thanked Sr Ranjitha the outgoing Asst Delegation Superior and Sr Namritha who has completed her four years of service as a Delegation Procurator, for their valuable service to the Delegation.Sr Christine the former Procurator General was present on the occasion. They in their turn thanked Sr Lillis, Sr Antonette and the entire Delegation. The Sisters of the Delegation expressed their gratitude to the Delegation Superior and the team for their commitment and joyful service during the past four years. The programme ended with a fellowship meal.
