Mysore, 10,2018:The 23rd General Body Meeting of KRCR Annual Assembly and KRCR – KRCBC Biannual Meeting was held at Prabhodana, Kalawadi, Mysuru from Aug.3-5, 2018 for the Major Superiors of Karnataka. Sr M Rose Celine, the Superior General who was on her canonical visitation of our newly founded community in Nepal,made it a point to attend this meeting –so also the three Provincials in Karnataka i.e. Sr M Cicilia Mendonca (Mangalore Province), Sr M Bonita (Bangalore Province) and Sr M Assumpta (Western Province).
The theme of the Assembly being ‘Religious Leadership - Innovative Incarnational Intervention’, the proceedings of three days revolved round the pivot of modeling after the person of Jesus the Good Shepherd. `The gorgeous scenic beauty in the campus created an ambiance for all to delve deeper into this theme and to resolve to undergo change and transformation in the style of our ledership.
At the Inaugural Eucharist the main celebrant Most Rev. Peter Machado, the Archbishop of Bengaluru along with the other Bishops of Karnataka who had participated in the Biannual Meeting gave an encouraging lead to the Assembly to flock towards incarnating God through our leadership. The homily by Most Rev, Anthony Kariyil CMI, the Bishop of Mandya gave a clarion call to all through his fiery homily to listen to God, to listen to context and to creation.
The presentation on ‘Church in Karnataka-2025’ by Bishop Derk Fernandes, Fr Praveen D’ Souza, OFM, Sr Pushpa Joseph and Bro Saiyamon was a time of enlightenment. The resource person Fr Joe Arun SJ, elucidated on ‘Disruptive Leadership’ was truly innovative beckoning us to incarnational intervention.
Sr M Rose Celine, our Superior General also addressed the Women religious major superiors separately, being the President of National CRWI, on issues confronting the Church in India, especially the women religious and the stand we need to take.
Fr Stany D’ Souza, Sj, the President of KRCR and Fr Stifan Periera the Secretary with their dynamic leadership had masterminded excellently this Assembly in collaboration with the Executive members, including Sr Cicilia Mendonca. In conclusion the KRCR came out with the Assembly Statement for implementation to make our religious leadership effective and fruitful in the Church and the Society.
