March 31, 2017: With great joy and burning zeal in our hearts, we, the thirteen junior sisters of Mangalore Province, gathered together at Bethany Provincialate, Vamanjoor from 29th to 31st March 2017 for three days’ recollection prior to our renewal of vows. Sr Roshel, our Junior Directress, helped us to get in touch with our inner being and guided us to be with Jesus our spouse. The Provincial Superior Sr Cicilia Mendonca instructed us to cultivate deep desire and reminded us about the prerequisites for prayer. She mandated us to walk in the foot-steps of Jesus through the passages of Jesus and Zacchaeus and the prodigal son. We reflected together on vows and community life with renewed zeal. Having spent precious moments in His presence we marched towards our communities.
On the eve of 7th April we gathered together again in the Provincialate immersing ourselves in prayer and adoration. On the morn of 8th April we entered into the awesome mystery of the Eucharistic Celebration. It was a moment of joy for all thirteen of us to commit ourselves again to our Divine spouse Jesus. As we heard the reading that God is ever faithful to His people, He is faithful to us too. We also determined to be faithful to Him and to bear prophetic witness by word and example. We were then felicitated by our Provincial, her councillors, superior and the community sisters affectionately.Our joy was redoubled as we expressed our deep-felt gratitude and thus we said ‘Yes Lord I am yours forever’.
