October 28, 2017: 31 Bethany Sisters of Bangalore Province from 19 communities of the Province came together for their spiritual exercises of eight days based on Bethany Charism and Spirituality from 15 th October to 23rd October 2017, at Bethany Convent, Bogadi, Mysore, under the guidance of Sr Mariette BS, the General Councillor, who is also a member of the historical commission. During the 8 days of spiritual renewal we experienced the Compassionate Love of the Lord, encountering Jesus as the Samaritan Woman at the well, gripped by His gaze as Peter was. We drank deeply the Living waters from the Living Source “JESUS” and thus deepened our conviction to be the true hand maids of the Lord, after the example of Mother Mary and to share the compassionate love of Jesus with all, especially the poor and the marginalized by integrating prayer and service, and imbibing the missionary zeal of St Therese. Input on the life of our Founder and early sisters indeed added the flavor of “Contemplation in Action” to our lives enabling us to move from “Compassionate Divinity to the Wounded Humanity”.
This Retreat was a unique experience to review, renew, refresh and rejuvenate our Love for the Lord and His people and to grow in an appreciation of our vocation to Bethany.
