Nov 11,2017 Canonical Erection of 183rd community at Chattisgarh
November 05.11.2017 was a historical day for the Congregation as it opened its 183rd branch house in the soil of Chattisgarh and a red-letter day to the Eastern Province as it is the first new house after its being carved out of the Northern Province. Most Rev. Emmanuel Kerketta, Bishop of Jashpur, officiated at the Eucharistic celebration and Sr Shaila, the Provincial Superior, read the Decree of Erection during the Mass. After the Mass, the parish community welcomed the sisters, organized a beautiful and meaningful programme with the active participation of the youth, children, men and women. It was heart touching to see the joy of the people welcoming our sisters with love and affection. Sr Anita Soren was installed as the Superior, Sr Winnifred and Sr Grace Xalco as the members of the community. Around 25 Bethany Sisters from 7 communities were present to witness this event, 12 Capuchin priests, along with the sisters and priests from the deanery.
