August 11, 2017: Annual Meetings of the Congregation commenced on 10th August 2017. Rev Sr Rose Celine the Superior General lit the lamp and the meeting started with a prayer led by Sr Shubha. Sr Shanthi Priya, the co-ordinator for Pastoral Apostolate, accorded a warm welcome to the gathering (about 60) and Sr Rose Celine addressed the group highlighting the current burning issues of youth and family. Rev. Fr Harold Pereira co-ordinator and Mr Leslie Arouza, director for Family Commission, from Udipi diocese were the resource persons who expounded various aspects of family life from their rich experiences in the ministry. They also observed the lacuna of women religious in the training stage of the ministry and called upon the Bethany Sisters to join in this project. Thereafter, reports of the pastoral ministry from different provinces (including delegation abroad and Tanzania) were presented. It was noted that there is spiritual vibrancy in the sisters participating in the ministry; various aspects according to cultural, social and geographical needs are addressed and collaboration and networking is initiated according to needs of the province. Steps are taken to include the inspiration of the Founder the Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas in the ministry. At the evaluation session presided over by Sr Rose Celine, Sr Shanthi Priya the co-ordinator, spelt out the priorities for the ensuing year with the active participation of the members. Sr Rose Celine made the concluding remarks and the meeting successfully came to a close with prayer and thanks.
