Sr Gerosa of Jesus Mary BS (89) nee ClotildaConcessao of Bethany Congregation, Bangalore Province, passed away on November 6th 2018 at 11.10 am.  atJyothiNilaya Convent, Kacharkanahalli, Bengaluru.  She hails from Puttur, Diocese of Mangalore,  the fruit of the first community, Lisieux Convent, started by our beloved Founder RFC Mascarenhas and hence was much loved by our Founder and she loved him much in return.  She is the eldest daughter of late Mr Francis Concessaoand ApolineMascarenhas and has five brothers and two sisters among whom one brother namely Rev. Dr Vincent Concessao is the Archbishop Emeritus of Delhi Archdiocese.  Her funeral rites will be held on 7th November 2018 at 10.00 am at JeevanJyothi Chapel Kacharkanahalli.  Thereafter, her mortal remains will be taken to St Pius the X, Kammanahalli Church Cemetery for the burial.

Sr Gerosa has rendered service as primary school teacher, headmistress and superior of communities in numerous places in Karnataka such as, Bethany Convent Mangalore, Kulshekar, Sagar, Mudigere, Sampaje, Dornahalli, Gadenahalli, Londa, Ponnampet,  Ankola,  KR Nagar,  Kutta and Bengaluru. As a committed and dedicated teacher she won the hearts of children and parents alike.  After her retirement, she has served as a clerical staff and in KROSS Office Bengaluru.

She loved to spend long hours in the presence of the Eucharistic Lord. She was  soft spoken, polite, gentle, pleasant in her dealings, always moved about with a cheerful countenance, maintaining good relationship with the sisters and outsiders.  Neat and orderly, perfection in her work was her hall mark.  All through her years she worked zealously, with great love for the poor and sick and would visit them very often.  She was suffering from age related problems and was confined to her  room and wheel chair for the last ten years. This morning as she was taking breakfast all of a sudden she collapsed.  The Lord plucked her away silently. She was a beautiful flower in the garden of Bethany adorned with the qualities of Mother Mary.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and perpetual light shine upon her; may she rest in peace.
