Sr M Colette BS ( 80 yrs)

July 27, 2017: Sr Colette BS (80) nee Juliana M D’Souza of the congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore passed away on Thursday July 27th at 2.30 pm at the age of 80 at Mother of Mercy Convent, Gadenahalli, Hassan Dist. Funeral celebration is on 28.07.2017 at 3 pm Mother of Mercy Convent, Gadenahalli. Sr Colette hails from St Theresa’s Church, Kemmannu, Udupi Diocese and is the daughter of late Sylvester D’souza and late Marceline Braganza. Sr Colette BS is a humble, prayerful and hardworking person. She was ready for any type of work, like taking care of livestock, fields, coffee estate etc… even though she was a trained teacher and qualified nurse. She was pioneer and first Superior and headmistress of Sacred Heart Convent and School at Basrikatte.. She loved the children in the school as well as in the Boarding and Orphanage. Later she served at Fatima Convent, Dornahalli, St Martha’s Convent, Mudigere, Loretto Convent, Moodubelle and served as teacher at Santibastwad, St Theresa’s Karnal, St Joseph’s Convent, Sagar. As a nurse she worked in Monipalli Hospital Kerala; thereafter at Dornahalli and Gadenahalli. After her retirement in 1995 she served in the boarding and estate at Mudigere. She worked hard to regularize land documents and to protect the property at Mudigere. Later, she joined the community at Mother of Mercy Convent, Gadenahalli. During her ill health in the recent years she would spend most of the day before the Blessed Sacrament. After a short period of confinement to her room well disposed to meet her maker she flew to her Heavenly reward on 27th noon. May her soul rest in peace
