The installation of Sr Jessy Maria as the Provincial Superior, Sr Anita Moras as the Asst Provincial Superior, Sr Christine Noronha, Sr Agnelita and Sr Margarita as the councillors by Sr Rose Celine, the Superior General in the presence of Sr Shanthi Priya, the Assistant Superior General, Sr Wilberta, the former Superior General and a few members of the Province on 25 March 2022, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord marked a milestone in the annals of the Eastern Province.
On this memorable day special prayers were offered for the outgoing and incoming Provincial team members. During the solemn installation ceremony led by Sr Shanthi Priya, the Asst Superior General, Sr Rose Celine, the Superior General installed Sr Jessy Maria, the Provincial Superior and the councillors praying for God’s abundant blessings and the gifts of the Holy Spirit as they commence their leadership mission.
A short felicitation programme was organised to celebrate the occasion. Sr Rose Celine besides complimenting the newly installed team members for their readiness and generosity for the ministry of service,thanked the outgoing Provincial Superior Sr Shaila and the councillors, Sr Jessy Maria, Sr Bridget Pushpa Das, Sr Anita Moras and Sr Oliva for their dedicated service for the growth of the Province in all the ways. Sisters of the Province expressed profusely their sentiments of gratitude and salutations for their leaders in manifold ways with much joy and exuberance.
Sr Shaila the outgoing Provincial Superior voiced her sentiments of gratitude abundantly to God, her Councillors and the Sisters of the Province. The newly appointed Provincial Superior Sr Jessy Maria made her maiden speech inviting the Sisters to collaborate and create synergy to make our Founder’s dream for Bethany come true by being faithful to their commitment. She concluded with our Founder’s historic words “Let Bethany grow, flower and bear fruit in plenty” in the Eastern Province through the guidance of Mother Mary, the intercession St Therese, Bethany Saints, St Joseph, Fr Founder and all our Sisters in heaven. Sr Leena Coutinho compered the entire programme.
The solemn Eucharistic Sacrifice officiated by Most Rev Dr Felix Toppo SJ, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ranchi concelebrated with Fr Peter Sanga, the Parish Priest of Doranda was the culmination of the entire programme during which the newly appointed Province leaders were commended to God through the mediation of Mother Mary the first patroness of the Congregation. Significance of the Mystery of Annunciation and Incarnation related to Bethany’s Charism and Spirituality, expounded by the Archbishop in his homily, was an apt message for the occasion.
The programme concluded with a fellowship meal strengthening the bond of communion among the participants, experiencing a renewed call for greater collaboration in the mission of building the Kingdom of God in the remote areas through our presence and ministries.
