The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the whole humanity, bringing about catastrophic effects on all very specially the migrants, wage labourers and the most vulnerable groups of our society. It is at this juncture the Bethany Social Service Trust Mangalore through Sahodaya its social wing had organized the outreach programs through the generous financial assistance from Bethany Congregation, Conrad Hilton Funds and Arise Foundation, London. Sr Shanthi Priya the Director of Sahodaya along with Sr Leena Dcosta the Program Coordinator of Sahodaya and its lay animators and with the assistance of Bethany sisters from the Mother House Community organized programs at the Centre, in the slums and lanes of colonies. Nearly 125 deserving families of migrants, daily wage labourers, widows, those deprived of ration cards and means of livelihood were identified and food kits worth Rs 700-800 were distributed. Sr Rose Celine the President of BSST and Mr Naveen Dsouza the local City Corporator were also present on the occasion. Sr Shanthi Priya gave an awareness session on the pandemic, its effects and the precautionary measures to be taken. Dr Praveen a Homeopath distributed the Immune Boosters too.
