Bethany Bendur 19 November 2018:It is a matter of great pride that the V U Bethany College Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh which is under the Bethany Educational Society in North East Province is gaining recognition as one of the best academically performing Institute of higher learning.  The College had the honour of being recipient of 12 ranks in the 1st maiden batch of 2017 and 10 ranks in the 2nd batch of Graduates of the year 2018.

 It is only the Second Graduation Day of the College held on 15th October 2018 in the developing College premises. The programme started with the academic procession in which the Dignitaries namely, Shri Zingnu Namchoom, MLA, Namsai;  Sr Joy BS, the Provincial Superior and the President, Bethany Charitable Trust (BCT); Dr Tapasya Raghav, IAS, D.C of Namsai;  Sr Sandhya, the Asst. Provincial; Sr Noeline, the Administrator of the college; Sr Janet, the Principal and the Graduates were ushered into the venue to the accompaniment of the college anthem track.  The venue was adorned with Dignitaries, Graduates, Guests, parents and the well-wishers. The Invocation chant by Sr Sandhya and the lighting of the lamp provided a spiritual prelude to the ceremony.   

The welcome address by Sr Noeline, the Administrator with a symbolic gesture of draping the Assamese Gamosa and the presentation of a evergreen sapling each to the Dignitaries by the faculty members and the students was a pleasant note.  Sr Joy BS the Provincial and the President of BCT declared the Second Graduation Ceremony open which was followed by the conferring the Award of Academic Certificates to the 75 graduates of 2018 by Shri Zingnu Namchoom the Chief Guest. The Academic accolades were given to the 2 Gold medalists – Roman Tayeng in History and Chasuan Khamhua in Sociology and the other 8 rank holders – History-1, Political Science-4, Sociology-1, Geography-1, and Commerce-1  were honoured by the Dignitaries.  Master Ken Kamthong was declared the ‘Best Graduate of the year-2018.’   

In his Presidential address Shri Zingnu Namchoom exhorted the Graduates to be the ambassadors of the Institute and urged them to enter into the world of challenges with determination and hard work.  Sr Joy, encouraged the Graduates with words of wisdom from the Book of Proverb, on carrying life forward with long confident strides and decisions without forgetting the roots of learning values. The sentiments of the Gold medalists evoked everyone’s attention. Sr Janet, the Principal acknowledged the presence of the Dignitaries, Guests and the Graduates and thanked the Sisters, faculty and the student council for their efforts to make the day very memorable. The students then presented a musical - ‘Reminiscing the journey’ depicting the life of the Graduates in the College which was enjoyed by all. The ceremony ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
