Bethany Mother House Bendur 07 February, 2018: We the 31 pearls of Bethany hailing from 7 states came together to the Holy place where our Founder Servant of God R.F.C Mascarenhas and pioneers lived a virtuous and saintly life. With great zeal and eagerness desiring to attain that holiness we entered the Mother House through the loving and warm welcome of our sisters. It was indeed a great experience for us to meet the Sisters specially the elderly, where we felt the spirit of our Founder powerfully, hovering over in every corner of the campus.

Bethany Mother House, the cradle of all traditions in Bethany, the birthplace, made us eager and grateful for God given opportunity to be first time in  the Mother House. Our hearts were moved with the desire to enter into this intensive programme of three months: “To be transformed unto Christ.” Finally the long awaited day dawned on the eve of the feast of presentation of our Lord. We the 31 juniors moved towards the Altar devoutly and reverently and offered ourselves to the Eucharist Lord.

Sr Erasma, the junior directress, Sr Lisieux and Sr Elizabeth Uchoi conducted a meaningful prayer and disposed our hearts to enter into the initiation ceremony. Sr Lillis, the Asst Superior General and General Coordinator for formation explained the Scripture that touched the core of our being to put on the armor of Christ, fasten the belt of  truth, take the shield of faith and take the helmet of salvation. And then we lit our lamps from our formators symbolizing our openness and nothingness to God. It is through our formators we transform our life unto Christ and grow more into the person of Jesus. We have experienced motherly care of Mary, our heavenly Mother, throughout our journey and sang the Magnificat in gratitude. After the ceremony we proceeded to the Pushpalaya refectory for the felicitation programme. There was lot of joy and feeling of belonging as we received warm welcome from the Generalate and Mother House Community. We are grateful to all the persons concerned in forming us.
