Ranchi: December 1, 2017: Nurse Sisters of the Eastern Province came together at Thanakpur, Uttarakhand for 3 days of Exposure cum Capacity Building under the leadership of Sr Jessy Maria, the coordinator for Socio–Medical Apostolate. 7 sisters from Jharkhand and Odisha working in the medical field participated in the programme. At the outset Sr Pressy, the Superior of the Thanakpur community, welcomed the participants along with Sr Rosita, SrEmerentia, SrSukesini and the health workers.
The health workers explained the four areas of health-related activities in the health center and in the villages. The participants visited the herbal medicine preparation unit, Physiotherapy unit, plantation and nursery of medicine plants. Sr Rosita took the sessions on preparation of various medicines and taught various therapies. It was an experiential learning.
