September 25, 2017: It’s a day to thank the Almighty God for the good shepherd in the person of Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul DSouza, who visited Bethany Motherhouse as a part of his pastoral visit to Bendur parish on 23.09.2017, along with the parish priest.
At 8.30 am the bell chimed, announcing the arrival of the bishop; Bethany choir sang melodiously the Bethany Anthem, as our Bishop Rev Dr Aloysius Paul DSouza arrived. Sr Lillis, the Asst. Superior General, welcomed with a garland, and then proceeded to the chapel. Sr Mariette, the General Councillor, conducted a short prayer; at the end of this prayer, the Bishop made a concluding prayer in which he prayed for the entire Congregation and especially for the cause of our Founder.
After the prayer, we all gathered at the Pushpalaya refectory. Sr Lillis once again welcomed him and apprised the Bishop of the pastoral involvement of the community along with the Generalate members. The Bishop appreciated the services that are rendered by the sisters in the parish. He said: “Religious and priests all together are called upon to proclaim the Kingdom of God,” and encouraged the sisters in their mission. He also asked each and every one to pray for the cause of the Founder.
