August 19, 2017: The Congregational level annual meet of Vocation Animators began at 8.45 a.m. on Sunday 13th of August 2017. They were accorded a joyful welcome by Sr Lilitta, the General Coordinator for vocation Animation. 80 participants comprising of Sr Rose Celine our Superior General and all her Councillors, Procurator General, six Provincial Superiors, their assistants, Province Coordinators for Vocation Animation and the local Vocation animators. In her inaugural address, Sr Rose Celine called on all to be human and consecrated, to keep visiting the families and to manifest the wealth of the Charism of our Congregation during vocation promotion. Fr. Joel D’ Souza SDB and Bro. James Marcus SDB resource persons of the day highlighted the realities of the present day world and challenges involved while promoting vocations. They suggested some practical tips for vocation animation such as: 1) To get excited to meet the Lord early morning, and being passionate about vocation promotion 2) Conscious that we are recruiting the present day generation who are media savvy, the ‘why’ generation, youngsters who are ambitious and good communicators 3) Above all we need to be walking advertisers, presenting our Founder and our Charism in a most creative and appealing manner. All got acquainted with work done in the provinces and in the Tanzania mission through the reports presented by the Province coordinators of vocation promotion. After a fruitful discussion in groups as per the Province through a common understanding, the following priorities were arrived at the level of the Congregation: 1. Praying for Vocations daily and through an hour of adoration once a month 2. Witness of life, reflecting the Person of Jesus through a life of integrity 3. Organizing creative summer/leadership camps for youth, using innovative methods, purposeful use of Media and encouraging younger sisters to participate in youth camps in our regions 4. Networking with the priests, BLA/other Religious Congregations in the ministry of vocation promotion. 5. A joyful SMILE will be powerful tool for vocation Promotion.
