Sr Mary Juliet hails from Warekodi Bellore, Dakshina Kannada, Mangalore. She was the fourth among the eight siblings of late Francis D’Souza and Late Magdaline D’Souza. Her sister Late Sr Ursula was an Apostolic Carmel nun and one of her brothers Mr. Partrick D’Souza a well-known advocate at Bangalore.

Sr Juliet was a loving sister, caring and concerned about the welfare of the sisters. She was neat and orderly in her appearance and cleanliness. She had a great love for the poor, and the sick. Her fidelity to her duty was remarkable. She had devotion towards the Blessed Sacrament and Blessed Virgin Mary. All through she was involved in education ministry. She was awarded as the best teacher. She also had a great zeal for pastoral work and was considered as a great teacher of catechism. She had a very melodious voice and praised God through this talent.

She had her Primary education at St Michael’s Higher Primary School, Bellore and High School Studies at Municipal High School Guledgud. She joined Bethany in 1955 and made her First profession in 1957 and Perpetual profession in 1963. She did her TCH training at Rosa Mystica Mangalore. In the month of August she had a fall after which she was shifted to Concetta Hospital, Kinnigoly. Thereafter she was admitted to St. John’s hospital Bangalore, for further medical treatment and care. She was brought back to the community where she was taken care. On 18 December she showed symptoms of uneasiness. Sr. Sahana the Provincial Superior and the members of the Provincial House visited her to give her solace. On 19th evening she suffered from septic shock and flew to her eternal abode in the presence of the members of the community at 4:10 pm. Her Funeral rites will be held at St John the Evangelist Church Bangalore on 20.12.2022 at 11.00 a.m.
